Laure HUMBERT

Laure Humbert is Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester. She works on the history of gender, medical care and humanitarianism. Her most recent book Reinventing French Aid: the Politics of Humanitarian Relief in French-Occupied Germany, 1945-1952 was published by Cambridge University Press in 2021. She is the Principal Investigator of an AHRC-funded project entitled ‘Colonial and Transnational Intimacies: Medical Humanitarianism in the French external Resistance’ and a research affiliate on ‘Researching the Impacts of Attacks on Healthcare’ consortium. She is currently working on the history of the health service of the French external resistance.

Laure Humbert est historienne, Senior Lecturer à l’Université de Manchester. Spécialiste de l’histoire de l’humanitaire et du genre, elle a travaillé sur les camps de personnes déplacées en Allemagne. Ce travail a été publié en 2021: Reinventing French Aid: the Politics of Humanitarian Relief in French-Occupied Germany, 1945-1952 (Cambridge University Press, 2021). Elle dirige actuellement un projet de recherche financé par l’Art and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) sur l’histoire de l’humanitaire et de la médecine dans la résistance et ai research affiliate dans le projet Researching the Impact of Attacks on Healthcare.
